Pakistan Agrees To Hybrid Model To Host Champions Trophy 2025
The Pakistan Cricket Board has proposed a significant proposal. Unless a hybrid model is implemented, it will not send its team to India for ICC events until 2031. This model would see Pakistan’s matches against India played at neutral venues, with Dubai suggested for the 2029 Champions Trophy. This proposal is part of ongoing discussions with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and reflects PCB’s concerns about financial and logistical challenges.
The PCB also demands a larger share of the ICC’s annual revenue. Joint hosting rights for the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2031 World Cup with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh could mean that Pakistan’s matches may be held in these countries instead of India, further emphasizing the PCB’s push for a hybrid model.
