IPL 2024 Season Review
Before looking at the TATA IPL 2025 schedule, remember the exciting IPL 2024 season. The Kolkata Knight Riders won the championship with solid performances from Sunil Narine and Mitchell Starc. They had Gautam Gambhir as their mentor. They defeated the Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, who had stars like Jos Buttler and Trent Boult. Young players like Abhishek Sharma and Riyan Parag impressed everyone.
Travis Head was great on the Indian pitches, and Virat Kohli was the top scorer. Unfortunately, RCB did not reach the finals again. The season saw many high-scoring games, often exceeding 250 runs, and thrilling finishes that kept fans excited until the last moment.
IPL 2025 Schedule
The IPL 2024 season has concluded, and anticipation is already high for the next edition. The IPL has announced the retention policy for the upcoming mega-auction. With a budget of 120 Crore and new rules, teams plan which players to keep and build their squads around.
The rise of T20 leagues worldwide has created scheduling issues. The IPL usually happens from late March to May, but the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is scheduled for April to May 2025. This overlap could cause problems for players who participate in both leagues.

IPL 2025 Mega-Auction: Retained Players List Season 10
The excitement for the IPL 2025 schedule is growing. A big auction is coming up in November 2025, and new rules about player retention will affect how teams build their squads and manage their budgets. People are especially interested in how the Chennai Super Kings will approach the auction and whether MS Dhoni will be involved. One significant change is a new salary system for retained players.
Teams can now keep five capped players (Indian or overseas) and one uncapped player for six retained players. However, only two can be uncapped, with a salary of Rs 4 crore each. The wages of retained players will be taken from the team’s overall budget of Rs 120 crore, so teams that keep more players will have less money for the auction.
